Black & White was born from a dream…

and from a reinvention.

I’m Monika Vera, and together with my husband Robinson, we started this adventure several years ago. We come from the hospitality world: my parents worked in it their whole lives and taught me from a young age the value of doing things well and treating people with kindness and care.

Before the pandemic, we managed the Black & White restaurant, and I also ran an events and decoration company with a friend. Until one day, life changed our plans… and with them, our entire vision.

That’s when we decided to give the project a new direction. I felt my city needed a special place:
not just to grab a quick coffee or breakfast, but to stay, to enjoy slowly.

A beautiful, cozy place where every detail speaks for itself. That’s how the new version of Black & White was born: a café with soul.

And who am I, beyond the apron?

Besides being the pastry heart of this project, I’m passionate about design, aesthetics, and the art of creating spaces that are felt.

I love caring for the invisible: what doesn’t show in a photo but is sensed the moment you walk in.
That feeling that everything was made with love and intention.

I’m one of those who believes a well-set table can change your day.
That a beautiful breakfast can be a way of saying “I love you.”
And that spaces, when created with care, can become home.

El sitio es absolutamente precioso, cuidado al detalle y con una decoración acogedora que enamora nada más entrar. La tarta estaba riquísima, fue todo un éxito, pero sin duda lo mejor de todo fue el personal, tienen una plantilla increíble, fueron muy amables, atentos siempre estaban  pendiente de que no nos faltara nada en ningún momento.
